Clovelly
The Project
A Create Construction bespoke home
Designed by award winning architect Mary Ellen Hudson, the Clovelly home features extensive use of off form concrete and recycled materials. The minimalist construction showcases the bare structure in true brutalist character, but is softened with the warmth of timber joinery, recycled hardwood flooring and simple recycled hardwood niche shelving. The living area boasts double height vaulted ceilings and huge sliding doors that spill out onto the garden and pool at the rear. The polished concrete kitchen island and living area floors provide a modern, clean, low maintenance finish.
Hydronic heating within the slab provides ample heating to the extensive high living spaces, the addition of radiators to all the bedrooms, ensures snug warm spaces in the cooler months. A rooftop garden that covers the entire rear section of the house keeps the living spaces cool in the warmer months, while cascading succulents adorn the exterior walls to bring colour and life.
