Edgecliff Rd, Woollahra

The design brief for this home was to gracefully transition from the original Victorian style of the front living and bedrooms to newer contemporary spaces that reflect the client’s love of hosting and bringing family and friends together. The open kitchen and dining room merge with the outdoor courtyard space, whilst extensive inbuilt storage throughout the home creates ample storage space for residents and guests. Build design details include:

  • Retain original heritage elements of the home including ornate ceilings and antique stained-glass windows
  • Transform the back of the house with new contemporary spaces which merges the indoor and outdoor living
  • New first floor addition
  • Open plan kitchen featuring natural timber veneer and custom brass handles
  • Travertine used throughout the new indoor/outdoor space
  • Extensive custom inbuilt storage
  • Stone BBQ and landscaping with inbuilt seating
  • Solid oak flooring in the bedroom is complimented with the oiled blackened oak veneer storage, featuring custom designed and made brass handles.
  • Architect: Julia English
